With over 37 years of experience, Rob Beacom has spent most of his career producing construction documents. His diverse building knowledge includes both commercial and industrial projects.
Rob worked his first 25 years with local architectural design firms on building types such as medical, educational, and financial. He joined KC Engineering in 2006 where he began his industrial building experience working on several food processing and storage facilities.
His current role at KC Engineering includes management, development, and implementation of (BIM) standards, as well as creating (BIM) content libraries for the use of Autodesk Revit. He, also has a unique mix of software experience that also includes 3DS Max for creating photo-realistic renderings that benefit in communicating with clients.
Rob is an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Rob has a passion for collecting, and listening to old-time rock/vintage music. He also enjoys cooking, primarily barbequed/smoked food, and working on his yard.
Why did you choose your profession?
Growing up, I always excelled in art; combined with an interest in buildings, I became interested in architecture as early as junior high. Inspired by my father who worked in construction, I decided to pursue drafting as my occupation.
