Joel started his career with Missouri Valley Steel Co., a steel fabrication company, in November of 1979. At that time all steel detailing was manually detailed. He started using SDS/2 steel detailing software in 1984, and continues to use the latest version of this software today.

Joel has enjoyed working at KC Engineering since 2004 because of the work and the people he gets to associate with.

​

Joel has been involved in his church choir and hand bell choir, and with volunteer coaching the youth in the community. He has coached flag football, basketball, baseball and soccer.

Joel enjoys family time and hanging out with friends. He is a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and frequently attends games. He enjoys all types of sports, working outside and in his yard, walks and exercise.
