Eric joined KC Engineering in 2001.  Being interested in math, science, and building things at an early age, Eric decided to pursue an engineering degree and began his course of pre-engineering study at Morningside College in 1992.  Through a part-time job during his time at Morningside for a local structural engineering firm, Eric was exposed to drafting and the structural engineering profession which prompted him to transfer to Iowa State where he obtained his civil engineering degree in 1996, emphasizing in structures.

Eric is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS).

Eric is a member of the praise and worship team at the Heartland Baptist Church in Sioux City.  Eric is married and has three children in school which keeps him busy volunteering in support of his kids’ activities in music and athletics.

He enjoys singing and has been a member of a local Southern Gospel quartet – Triumphant Sound Quartet – since 2009.  The group sings year-round several times a month and has recorded cd’s in Nashville and Branson.

What do you like about working at KC Engineering?

I enjoy the fact that we are always at the leading edge of new technology, design methods, and software.  The implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and the ability to design projects and prepare construction documents in 3d has been very enjoyable. We are also always working on a very broad range of projects which keeps our day-to-day work interesting.
