Since joining KC Engineering in 2012, Derek has developed a wealth of experience in engineering design, project management and construction oversite in various types and sizes of structural design projects. Areas of expertise include structural steel design, concrete slipform, concrete tilt panels and masonry structures in addition to special wind and seismic requirements. He became a Principal Engineer and partner with Eric and Jason in 2019.
Derek is a dedicated engineering professional who understands the culture and values important to clients. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Derek is married and has three children. In his free time, he enjoys following the Iowa State Cyclones, South Dakota State Jackrabbits and Minnesota Vikings.
